CITIZEN'S POLICE ACADEMY
The Erlanger Police Department hosts an annual Citizen's Police Academy under the direction of Lt. Shawn Sims. The class offers individuals the chance to experience the role of a police officer. Classes include topics such as traffic stops, use of force, firearms and investigations. There are also demostrations by the Erlanger Police K-9 and the Northern Kentucky Emergency Response Unit (SWAT). During the course, participants are encouraged to ride along with actual officers. Classes are formed once enough participants are registered.
