Detective's Bureau

The Detective's Bureau of the Erlanger Police Department is made up of a supervisor and 5 investigators. Lt. Michael Jansing oversees the investigation unit which is supervised by Sgt. Todd Rice. The investigators are assigned to investigate criminal activity in the cities of Erlanger and Crescent Springs. One of these investigators is assigned to a Federal Task Force concentrating on illegal narcotics and violent criminal activity and another is assigned the the Northern Kentucky Drug Strike Force.

The team of investigators have many different specialties. Our team consists of graduates from the FBI National Academy, the National Forensic Academy, the Northeast Counter Drug Training Center Polygraph School and the DEA investigator's school.

In 2012 over 300 felony cases were investigated by the detectives. Many of these were very time consuming including organized crime, a homicide and numerous thefts. Along with these cases, investigators are routinely requested by other police agencies to assist in crime scene processing and narcotic investigations. We also teach forensic techniques to the members of the Erlanger Citizens Police Academy.

If anyone has information on criminal activity they are asked to call the Erlanger Police Department at 859-727-2424 or Crime Stoppers at 513-352-3040.
