Asco is a German Shepherd Police Dog. He is from Holland and was born on February 9th, 2011. He was purchased from Shallow Creek Kennels in Sharpsville Pennsylvania where he was trained for 12 weeks, including 6 weeks weeks with his handler, Officer Chad Girdler. Asco is trained as a dual purpose K9 both for drug detection and patrol activities. Asco is capable of finding drugs in the most unusual locations by its odor alone. Asco is also trained in suspect apprehension, suspect tracking, and building and article searches. Officer Girdler and Asco are nationally certified through North American Police Work Dog Association.
The Canine Team also conducts public demonstrations at numerous events throughout the year.
