11/22/2011 - Northern Kentucky 9-11 Memorial Fundraiser

The 9-11 events dramatically changed the course of American history. It affected our country, as well as the families, friends, and co-workers of those who lost their lives.

In February of 2011, the Crescent Springs Villa Hills Fire/EMS were presented with a piece of steel from the World Trade Center. Northern Kentucky representatives formed a committee to determine how to incorporate this piece of history to memorialize those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001. A decision was made to erect a monument at the Crescent Springs Community Park and named it the Northern Kentucky   9-11 Memorial to represent all Northern Kentucky communities.

The Cities of Crescent Springs and Villa Hills are presenting an opportunity for Northern Kentucky residents to be part of this memorial through donations. Louis Prabell at 859-547-2312 or lprabelle@yahoo.com can provide more information about the memorial and donation opportunities.

This memorial is important to our community. It will pay tribute to the firefighters, police, the airline industry, civilians, and the Pentagon.
