Captain Bruce Smith Promoted to Assistant Volunteer Chief

Erlanger Fire/EMS is pleased to announce that Captain Bruce Smith has been promoted to Assistant Volunteer Chief for the City of Erlanger Fire/EMS.  Bruce currently lives in the City of Erlanger and recently retired from the Post Office.  He began his career in the fire service with Erlanger as a volunteer in 1970, and has served Erlanger Fire/EMS for 40 years. 

Bruce will be responsible for volunteer recruitment and retention, and continues to serve as the departments representative for the Northern Kentucky Firefighters Association.  We are pleased to have an experienced veteran of the service be promoted to continue to lead our personnel and encourage citizens to volunteer for their local fire department.

This promotion became effective on Tuesday, February 2, 2024 at the Erlanger City Council Meeting.
