The Patrol Division of the Erlanger Police Department takes pride in delivering timely, courteous, professional service to the citizens of Erlanger. Our officers are among the best trained and most well equipped in the State of Kentucky. All sworn officers are certified by the State of Kentucky and are graduates of the Department of Criminal Justice Training Academy in Richmond, Kentucky. In addition, each officer is required to successfully complete a 13 week in-house Field Training Program before they are assigned to patrol duties. Officers must attend a minimum of 40 hours of annual training to maintain their certification; this training must be sanctioned by the State of Kentucky. Additionally, each officer receives in-house training that includes firearms, first aid / CPR, QUAD, Baton and OC. Every patrol vehicle is equipped with the most modern technology, this includes Mobile Video / Audio for the collection and preservation of evidence and Mobile Data Terminals to ensure fast and efficient flow of information. Currently, we were the first department in Kenton County to have patrol vehicles equipped with Mobile Data Terminals.
