Sergeant Troy Vines is in charge of the bike unit and is under the command of Lt. Kevin Gilpin. The patrol officers assigned to the unit are Todd Mitchell, Pat Yarusso and Chad Girdler. These officers are assigned to all three shifts and have made a positive impact on the work environment.

All officers have completed special training and are certified as police mountain bike operators.

The bike patrol officers have seen the positive impact on the community. Bike officers have been able to get to know the citizens on a more personal level instead of just driving by and waving from the patrol car. This, coupled with the ability to come across criminal behavior while being undetected, makes the bike officer a valuable tool for the Erlanger Police Department.
