The Young Crowd
City Government Month takes place every January and students are recognized in February. The ConnectErlanger committee works with the schools throughout January with the goal of educating children about city government. Elementary age children are taught about individuals in city government, such as, the Police and Fire Chiefs. Older elementary age children write essays about city government. Higher grade levels write ordinances. There are competitions, recognition of individuals, and prizes awarded.
