8/16/2012 - Dixie Chili Day

In 1929, the first Dixie Chili opened its doors in Newport, Kentucky, where it remains the oldest restaurant in Newport. The Sarakatsannis family still owns and operates the three Dixie Chili locations: Newport, Erlanger, and Covington, Kentucky. "Papa Nick’s" secret recipe is still served and loved today!

Eating at Dixie Chili has always been a family tradition. Students continue to stop in after Friday night games or after school. The City of Erlanger appreciates and respects the work, commitment, and tradition the Sarakatsannis family has given Erlanger residents over the years. The City would like to honor the Sarakatsannis family by celebrating their fifty years of success in Erlanger. We are proud they are part of our community!

Thomas L. Rouse, Mayor of the City of Erlanger, Kenton County, Kentucky, proclaims August 16, 2024 to be DIXIE CHILI DAY!

Dixie Chili will be running specials all week long so make sure to stop in!
