Erlanger Fire/EMS Department has been awarded the 2010 FEMA Assistance to Firefighters Grant
We are pleased to announce that the Erlanger Fire/EMS Department has been awarded the 2010 FEMA Assistance to Firefighters Grant in order to purchase two (2) new heart monitors/defibrillators at the cost of $31,0000 a piece ($62,000), ten (10) sets of turnout gear and to update the training library totaling around $63,400. This grant will enable our firefighters to better serve their customers with advanced heart monitoring equipment, will help the firefighters stay safer with newer, more advanced turnout gear, and will allow the firefighters the opportunity to update necessary training resources in order to maintain their high levels of training. Funding for these projects is paid 95% from federal funds with a 5% participant match. The total award for the project is $94,401. The federal share is $89,681 with our share totaling $4,720. This small amount will make a huge difference for our department.
Captain Dave McQuerry has been writing these grants since their inception and has done an outstanding job once again securing federal funding for our department. This year, Captain McQuerry was assisted by Lieutenant Rhonda Wolfe. I would like to recognize and thank these individuals for their hard work.
Congratulations to us all and GREAT JOB Captain McQuerry and Lieutenant Wolfe!
